    SOPs and Supplies

In an effort to standardize the format in which UCSF receives research sample shipments from all collaborating sites, the following protocols have been provided. Adhering to the procedures below not only facilitates pre-shipment organization, but also ensures timely compensation among iMSMS-affiliated sites.

    FAQs

    • Do I qualify for the International MS Microbiome Study (iMSMS)?
    • What is this study?
    • What causes multiple sclerosis?
    • How will we do it?
    • Why study bacteria?
    • What can be done with this information?

    Our Mission

We will investigate the role of gut bacteria (microbiota) and their genes (microbiome) in multiple sclerosis (MS) and use that understanding to design a clinical trial that will represent an entirely new approach to the treatment of multiple sclerosis.
